Moving Office
Well what a couple of busy weeks. We have now moved into our new premises just in front of the Mairie in a very central location in what was previously the ‘Pole Emploi’ centre. We had felt that the old office was a little too far from the main square for an Estate Agency in Ruffec. Not only that, but our office was a little too small at times for welcoming all our house hunting clients and being a team of 5 who were often there at the same time.
It was not easy finding an office large enough and in prime position and took many months of searching and negotiating whilst finding a suitable replacement to take over our old offices. Once we had found a successor it was full steam ahead over a very short period of time with a ‘To Do’ list as long as one of my daughter’s Christmas list! Organising the telephone transfer was one of the more frustrating chores with Orange initially telling us it could take up to FIVE weeks for the transfer!! All came good in the end, even if a technician did turn up one day early to install the new phone line in the existing office rather than the new one!
Moving took place in part on Thursday 8th October with the bulk being shipped down the road with a group of very kind friends giving up their spare time to help on Friday 9th October. I would like to thank all that helped on behalf of all of the team. With the phone on, doors open and everywhere in chaos we were officially in and open for business on Friday afternoon.
Since we have been installed it has been a hive of activity both inside and outside. On Tuesday we had our lovely new signage put up which I am very proud of. It looks so elegant against the beautiful old stonework. The whole building is looking so warm, welcoming and professional which reflects our work ethic so perfectly. Inside we have removed three partitioned offices (previously interview rooms for the ‘Pole Emploi’) to create an open feel and Nathalie has been busy painting. Rather than using modern furnishings we have chosen to find some older style furniture from the region to use as desks and storage. This has involved trawling the local Brocantes and Trocs.
All will take time, but we look forward to seeing you at some point in the new offices.
